The Supreme Council Notice to section presidents, November

Introduction This document calls the presidents of all the KKK’s sections – popular
councils (S.B.), branches (By.) and provincial units (Hkan.) – to a big
meeting in the municipality of Caloocan on Saturday, November 30, 1895. The meeting will be held in the house of
“Liwayway”, and is scheduled to start at eight o’clock in the morning. Penned by Emilio Jacinto (although he was then fiscal, not secretary,
of the Supreme Council), the communication stresses the importance of the
meeting, which will discuss almost every aspect of the Katipunan and will
affect each and every section. It is
consequently anticipated that the meeting will last all day, and those
attending are therefore asked make a donation – a salapi or half a
peso – to pay for both their lunch and their supper. The document is signed by Bonifacio, Jacinto and several other leading
members of the Katipunan, mostly using their KKK aliases and the KKK
cipher. Aguedo del Rosario, for
example, whose alias was Tagaisok, signs the document “Tngnñsck ”. The identities of the signatories, where
known, are detailed beneath the transcription. It is interesting to note that on this
occasion Bonifacio uses a different cipher from the other signatories. On later documents he customarily inscribed
his alias – Maypagasa – as “Vzypzgzsz”, but here it is “Gnubnonzn” and it is prefaced by the letter “L.”, which presumably
signifies his rank within the organisation.
The two next-highest ranking members of the Supreme Council, Emilio
Jacinto and Jose Turiano Santiago, preface their signatures with the letter
“B.” |

tansu sa bakal ng umaga. Sa bagay na
ito at sa karapatang kayo’y magsidalo, sapagkat pinakakatawan ng
kani-kaniyang pulutong ang bawat isa sa mga P., at sa mga katungkulan at
tanging paglilingkod at katalinuhan ng mga iba, kayong lahat ay aming
pinamamanhikan na mangyari lamang dumalo sa nasabing pagpupulong. Datapua’t
dito ay paguusapan ang lahat ng mga bagay halus na nauukol sa boong Kat. at
sa bawat kaniyang pulutong, kaya’t walang salang magtatagal marahil ng
maghapun at hangang gabi pa. Sa
dahilanan nito, ang aming minabuti na kayong lahat at sumambag ng isang
salapi na ibibili ng pagkaing gagamitin sa tanghalian at hapunan. Sa lahat ng
ito, kami’y umaasang hindi wawaling kabuluhan ang aming kapamanhikan, at di
mamasamain ang inakalang ambag, na mangyayaring ibigay karakarakang dumating
ang kasulatang ito sa mga mahal ninyong kamay. Kami’y aming
niyayakap ng lubos na pagibig ng tunay na magkakapatid. Maynila ikadalawangpu
